Regional drought potential advisory
Based on rainfall anomaly classification over the past six months and forecast rainfall anomaly classification over the next 3 months.
Fiji: Well below normal rainfall in June to September and below normal rainfall during November. Normal or below normal rainfall is predicted once again for the coming 3 months.
Tonga: Below to well below normal rainfall over the past 6 months. Normal conditions forecast over the coming 3 months might not be enough to replenish the reserves.
Marquesas: Well below or below normal rainfall experienced from June to October with continuing drier than normal conditions predicted for the next 3 months.
Northern Cook Islands: 4 out of the last 6 months below or well-below normal. No clear guidance for the next 3 months.
