Biography
Kit is an engineer with a PhD from Auckland University. His main interest is in developing mathematical models to address water quality issues such as dispersion, water temperature, dissolved oxygen depletion, nutrients and plant growth, and ecosystem structure and function. More recently this work has been extended to catchment scale modelling of nutrient runoff and nutrient transformations that occur in the riparian zone and the stream channel. Kit has used models to address water quality problems in rivers, lakes and estuaries, mostly in New Zealand and Australia, for a range of clients.
