Biography

Summary

My primary research interests are in abiotic controls of primary production, and in movement of water and nutrients through ecosystems. I specialise in tracing water and nutrient pathways using stable isotopes, a focus that has supported a diverse research career spanning pond food webs to large-scale hydrology.

I work in the Hydrodynamics group at NIWA Christchurch. In 2014 I completed a post-doctoral fellowship as a biogeochemist, working with the University of Hawaii at Hilo and the United States Forest Service.
