Temperature measurements for the Nile St Vicarage in Nelson have now been digitised. These records were used in the NIWA seven-station temperature series
Early paper records of Nelson climate measurements (agent number 4244 in the NIWA Climate Database) have been recovered from storage and digitised. Temperature measurements were made at the Nile St Vicarage in Nelson over the period 1907-1920. Although used in the “seven-station” series, these data have never been entered on the Climate Database available on-line. Nile St is a “site change” from the earlier Nelson City record over 1862-1880, but since there is no data overlap the Nile St data will be assigned to the same agent number (4244).
See the “seven-station” Schedule of Adjustments for further information on the early Nelson sites.
