For the three months Oct-Nov-Dec Northland, East Cape and Bay of Plenty were below normal, as were eastern and coastal Southland and Otago.
The rest of the country including the Southern Alps was normal or above normal, and the Manawatu region was far above normal.
In December, most of the country was normal or below normal, except for areas in Northland, Waikato, Southern Hawkes Bay and coastal Canterbury which were above normal.
