Canadian Richard Querel works under clear skies in one of the most remote locations on the planet – at Lauder Station in Central Otago. It’s a long way from his alma mater, University of Lethbridge in Alberta, which has noted Dr Querel’s ozone research on its website. But it’s not so far from Alexandra 25 minutes away, and is close to the heart of NIWA’s internationally recognised atmospheric monitoring work.
